I'm trying to share my phone's mobile data with my computer using a USB cable and the PDANet+ app. However, the connection only lasts about five minutes before it shuts off. Is there a way to make this work more reliably without having to pay for PDANet+?

It sounds like you're trying to use your phone as a hotspot over USB, which is definitely possible! Just make sure that your phone settings allow USB tethering, and check that your USB port on the computer is functioning properly. Sometimes, if the connection drops, it could be due to the app not being fully compatible without the premium version.

To clarify, are you really needing to connect your laptop to your phone through USB? If so, it might help to disconnect from Bluetooth if it's attempting to use that too. Also, check if you have proper permissions set up for tethering in your phone's settings.
