Can I Use 6400 MHz DDR5 RAM with an AMD 7900?

I have an AMD 7900 along with Corsair RGB DDR5 RAM, specifically a 64GB kit running at 6400 MHz, which is XMP ready (SKU: CMH64GX5M2Y6400C32). I'm not planning to overclock this RAM; I just need it to run stably. I have two questions:
1. Is the AMD 7900 compatible with 6400 MHz RAM for optimal performance?
2. Since this RAM is designed for Intel XMP, will that impact its performance with the AMD platform?

AMD officially supports RAM speeds up to 6000 MHz, though some chips might manage 6400 MHz if you're lucky. If you don’t want to mess with manual tweaks, your RAM will likely default to a lower speed, potentially making it slower than a 6000 MHz kit. On the bright side, stability should still be okay without overclocking, but you may not get the full benefit of the higher speed if things aren't optimized.

I’m okay with that as long as it’s stable. Just curious if this might affect gaming or other performance aspects?

While many get 6000 MHz, the 7900 officially handles:
- 2 sticks at 5200 MHz
- 4 sticks at 3600 MHz
Over time, my 7800X3D could only do 5800 MHz after a while, just something to keep in mind.

Generally, XMP profiles work well, but if you haven't bought the RAM yet, consider getting one that’s rated for EXPO and confirmed on your motherboard’s QVL list. If you’ve already purchased it, just give it a go; chances are it'll function without issues.
