I noticed in the latest Docker Desktop update for Windows that it states support for Windows 10 and 11 22H2 (19045) has ended. The next release will only install on Windows 11 23H2. Does this mean that both installing and updating Docker Desktop will require Windows 11, or is it just for new installations?

Yeah, I'd definitely assume that both aspects will require Windows 11. Support for older OS versions tends to fade over time, especially with security and compatibility in mind. Just a heads up!
If you don't want the headaches that come with Windows, switching to Linux for Docker is the way to go. It’s much smoother!
It sounds like both installation and updates will require Windows 11. It’s pretty common for software companies to drop support for older versions once they reach their end-of-life. So, if you want to keep using Docker, it’s best to upgrade your OS or consider switching to Linux entirely. You'll avoid this hassle in the future!

Or you could try Podman if you want to run containers on Windows 10 instead of Docker.
