How can I organize my music on my new iPhone?

Hey folks! I've just switched from Android to an iPhone 17 (I know, I know, but it's pretty!). However, I'm struggling to transfer my MP3s from my Windows PC. I managed to sync them using Apple Music and iTunes, which felt like a small win, but now all my songs are jumbled up in one big folder. Back on my PC, I had everything sorted into nice categories like Bryan Adams and 90s throwbacks, but now it just looks like a disaster on my iPhone. Plus, I've only got 4GB left on iCloud and my music folder is a hefty 20GB, so that's not an option either. Is there any way to keep my music organized on the iPhone as it was on my PC? Or is that just not possible with Apple?

You’ll likely have to create playlists for all your songs after bulk importing them. It’s kind of annoying, but that's how it goes in Apple land. And be mindful, iTunes backup doesn't always cooperate with Windows 11—so watch out for that if you’re using the latest version.

Honestly, it's all about the tags inside the MP3 files, not the file names or folders. You can tidy them up in iTunes on your PC or use something like MP3tag. Just a heads-up, you'll need to re-import the files into iTunes after that for it to reflect the changes on your iPhone.

You might want to pick a specific MP3 player app. There are plenty out there that allow importing from various sources and usually let you keep your music organized better than iTunes does.

Apple definitely makes it tough for this kind of thing. They want you using Apple Music or purchasing tracks from them. Your best bet for organization might be to find a cloud storage option that works for you. Just be aware that if you're looking for free options, they will likely limit the amount of space you have.
