I'm currently using a 3080 FTW3 and considering an upgrade to either the 5080 Founders Edition or the PNY overclocked model. I was initially saving up for a 5090, but I can grab either of these 5080 models at MSRP. Is it worth it? Also, which model would you recommend? I can share my specs if needed!

Honestly, the jump to a 5080 might not be that impressive compared to a 3080. It offers around 50% more frames in some games, but that might not justify the cost for you. If you're looking for the best performance per dollar, consider saving for a next-gen card like the 5090 instead. You could also think about the 9070 XT or 5070 Ti, which may give you decent performance at a lower price.
Yeah, with the current prices and performance, holding out for better options seems like the way to go.
Before you decide, think about what you want to achieve. If you're a heavy gamer and money isn't a huge issue, the 5090 might be worth it for you in the long run. If you're leaning toward the 5080, maybe wait for the Super version, which might have better specs like more VRAM. Just a thought!
I heard about those Super versions too! That could make a big difference.
Right? Apparently, they might offer a significant performance boost for not much more money.
I upgraded from a 3080 to a 5080 and I'm really happy with the performance leap! If you can get a Founders Edition, go for it. The build quality and cooling are top-notch—I love mine!
Nice! That's good to hear. Did you find it worth the investment compared to the 3080?

I totally agree! The 5090 seems like a smarter investment if you can wait. Plus, next-gen cards usually come with better value.
