Hey everyone! I've got an HP Omen by HP Obelisk Desktop 875, and I'm looking to add another SSD for gaming because my current SSD is nearly full and I don't want to transfer everything elsewhere. I thought about going for an M.2 SSD, but it seems like there aren't any extra slots available, just a SATA cable. From what I've gathered, M.2 NVMe is supposed to be significantly better. Is there any way I can still add an M.2 SSD? I do have a feeling the slot I'm currently using might even be SATA. I'm new to all of this, so any guidance would be super helpful. Thanks!

You’re correct; that PC doesn’t have an additional M.2 slot available, so the best route is to install another 2.5" SSD using the second SATA port. This will provide you with good performance as the new SATA SSD can be quite fast, likely close to the speed of your current SSD. To answer your concern, yes, gaming should run faster if you move your games from the hard drive to the new SATA SSD; hard drives are considerably slower.

Will it be a significant improvement in gaming performance if I upgrade to an SSD from my hard drive?
