I bought my PC from a friend during the COVID lockdown in 2020 for 1000 AUD, and it served me well since then. Unfortunately, my friend who helped me make sure I wasn't getting scammed isn't around anymore, and now I'm struggling with newer games like Battlefield 6 due to significant bottlenecking. Here are my specs: a Asustek Prime H310M-K motherboard, a 64-bit operating system, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPU, Intel i5-9400F CPU, 16 GB of RAM, and a 224 GB SSD alongside a 1.8 TB HDD. I'm looking for guidance on whether it's worth upgrading my current setup or if I should just build a new one, especially since I want to run games at 1080p. If you could recommend some parts that would help with that, I would appreciate it!

It’s generally not worth pouring money into your existing setup at this point. You're better off saving for a completely new build. However, if you have a decent power supply, you could upgrade the GPU first since it can be carried over to a new setup later. Adding another 16 GB of RAM could also help your performance, though keep in mind that it won't transfer to a new build. If your budget allows for it, considering a new processor like the Intel Core i7-9700K or even an i9-9900K could give your current PC a nice boost.
Yeah, I’d definitely lean towards saving for a new build. Your current motherboard is pretty much at the end of its life, and investing in it won't give you great returns. A new graphics card and a solid PSU can help for now if you're on a budget, but if you can stretch your budget to around 1000-2000 AUD, you should be looking at a complete rebuild with newer components. Check out the AM5 platform for future-proofing your build.
That's a solid plan, man! And if you're going new, definitely keep an eye on that PSU—you'll want something reliable to handle any upgrades.

I agree, upgrading your GPU and maybe adding RAM can give you a little more time with this setup. Just make sure to check your power supply! If you're gonna invest, though, make it worthwhile with a full new build when you can.
