What should I do if my GPU won’t click into place?

I just finished building my brother's PC, but the GPU doesn't seem to click into the motherboard properly. It's mostly seated in the slot and feels secure, but it just isn't fully connected. I suspect that the back panel of the case is preventing it from going in all the way, but there's no way to remove this panel. Any advice on how to fix this?

Have you given it a test run? My 5080 didn’t have that satisfying click sound either like my other GPUs, but it’s still firmly in place. Sometimes you need to apply a bit more pressure to seat it properly, and you can check if it is recognized by trying to pull it out—it should only come out if the retention button is pressed.

What do you mean by the back panel blocking the GPU? Usually, you secure the GPU by removing the back covers of the case. Make sure to check the dimensions of your GPU and confirm that your case supports its length. It might be that you need some extra room to fit it properly.

Have you checked for missing standoff screws in your case? I once built a PC with a budget case that didn’t have these screws, which made it impossible for my network card to click in. Just a thought!
