Should I Upgrade My CPU for Better Gaming Performance?

I recently bought a 5070 Ti and I'm experiencing noticeable bottlenecks in CPU-intensive games on my 5800X, especially on a 1440p display. I'm considering whether I should save for an AM5 upgrade or go for a 5700X3D or even a second-hand 5800X3D from eBay. Initially, I planned to save for the 9800X3D, but I've heard it might be overkill. Can anyone tell me how much performance I'd gain over the 5700X3D? Also, how safe is it to buy used CPUs? I've never done it before, and it makes me a bit uneasy.

I just upgraded to a new motherboard and grabbed a 7800X3D along with my 5070 Ti. Both are working great! From what I've read, the performance boost from going to a 9800X3D isn't massive, but for long-term usage, it's something to consider. As for buying used parts, just be cautious and check the return policies. A second-hand 5800X3D could work, but always check reviews and seller ratings first!

Honestly, if you're looking at AM5, the 7800X3D is a really good option instead of the 9800X3D. The price difference isn't huge, and it may future-proof your system without overspending. Plus, you could pair it with a cheaper B650 motherboard and still get great performance!

To tackle the bottleneck, considering a jump to AM5 with the 9800X3D is a solid path. But if you're aiming to save cash and still get good performance, the 5700X3D can also help you out without breaking the bank. As for used parts, lots of people do it, and as long as you buy from reputable sellers, it can be a great way to save money!

It sounds like your CPU is really working hard! Games like Battlefield V and Fellowship can be CPU-heavy, especially with higher settings. If your CPU usage is hitting 85-100% while the GPU sits at about 40%, that definitely shows a bottleneck. Have you messed with your settings yet? Sometimes cranking up the graphical settings can help balance the load a bit more.
