I have a laptop that only has one HDMI output, and I want to connect it to two screens simultaneously. I tried using an HDMI switch, but that only lets me choose between the screens instead of displaying on both at the same time. Is there any way to achieve this setup?

You might want to check out a docking station designed for multiple screens. That would let you use several monitors at once without issue. An HDMI splitter will only mirror the same screen.
Does your laptop have USB-C ports? You could try a USB-C hub to get multiple HDMI outputs. Keep in mind, though, it can be tricky to find one that works properly depending on your laptop model.
You can use a standard HDMI splitter if you just want both screens to show the same image. However, if you're looking for the two displays to act independently, you'll need to either use a DisplayPort connection or a second output from your laptop.
