Is the Gigabyte P750GM Power Supply Still Dangerous?

I'm considering getting a Gigabyte P750GM, which is a modular power supply, because it seems like a good budget option. However, I've heard that earlier versions of this model were known to have issues, including potential explosions. The Amazon listing isn't clear if I would be getting the first or second version. Does anyone know if the newer version is safe to buy?

From what I've seen, there was a revision in 2021 aimed at fixing the problems, but there isn't a ton of concrete evidence that confirmed it worked perfectly. Also, keep in mind that it's somewhat outdated now. For any builds in 2025, I highly recommend ATX 3 power supplies, as they're becoming the standard and usually don’t cost much more than older models.

Do you have suggestions for newer models that fit a budget similar to the P750GM?

Honestly, if you're worried about reliability, it might be better to look for a PSU that doesn't have a history of issues. Playing it safe with something more established can't hurt!
