I turned off my PC normally yesterday, but today when I pressed the power button, nothing happened. I tried reset methods like turning everything off and on, and even shorted the power switch pins after disconnecting the front panel connector. I checked with a multimeter and got 5V across the pins. Next, I tried to short the ATX connector's PS_ON pin (pins 16 and 17), but the PSU didn't turn on. Is my PSU broken? Here are my specs: Corsair RM650 PSU, Aorus Pro AC B550 motherboard, Ryzen 5 5600x CPU, MSI GTX 1080 GPU, and 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance RAM.

It sounds like your PSU might be dead, especially since you’ve gone through all those steps. One thing to note is that a lot of modern PSUs have protection features that prevent them from powering on if they don't detect a load on the voltage rails. Using a proper PSU tester would definitely give you more insight. If your PSU is still under warranty, contacting Corsair for an RMA would be a great idea to try and get a replacement.

I tested my PSU with a small fan connected and it turned on fine. But when I removed everything except the CPU and one RAM stick, it still wouldn't start. Does this mean I might have a dead motherboard or CPU?
