Hey folks! I've got a Ryzen 5 9600X running on a B850M motherboard and I'm using a DeepCool AK500 air cooler. While I'm gaming on Battlefield 6, I notice my CPU temperatures reaching around 85°C. Is this temperature within the normal range for my CPU, or should I be concerned about my cooling setup or airflow?

You don’t need to stress about it! 85°C is generally considered fine for CPUs, and it's really hard to cause damage just from heat alone. Anything below 95°C is in the safe zone. You should be good to go!
85°C is okay as long as your CPU isn't thermal throttling, which it shouldn’t be at that temp. So no worries there!
Battlefield 6 does push CPUs quite a bit. I’ve got a 5800X3D that hit 90°C during the beta. I ended up undervolting a little to try and keep it below 80°C. Some players mentioned a user.cfg tweak that can help manage threads better, but I didn't find it that effective myself.
While 85°C isn't damaging to your CPU, ideally you should aim for around 75°C during gaming. Maybe consider undervolting a bit; a -20% setting on voltage and tweaking PBO could help reduce your temps. It might make a difference!
Thanks for the tip!

Actually, the 85°C limit is a common thermal setting in BIOS for AM5 boards. I bet you’re not hitting above that because it’s capped at 85°C already.
