I'm trying to identify all the distribution lists (DLs) in my organization that haven't been used recently. From my research, it seems like it might not be straightforward. Does anyone have any suggestions or methods to pull a list of all unused distribution lists?

Wouldn't doing a message trace on the distribution lists help here? This way, you can pinpoint which ones haven't been used.
I’ve got about 150 distribution lists I need to check, so a message trace might be worth a shot. It could save me some time!
To tackle this, you can start by generating a report of distribution list usage. There's a helpful guide on it that shows you how to pull the data. Once you have the list, filter out any DLs that have had recent activity based on your set threshold, and the remaining ones will be your unused lists.

That’s a good point! Also, I’d recommend checking the tracking logs over different time spans, like something longer than 90 days. Sometimes they only see action during specific times of the year.
