I'm building my first gaming PC and considering buying a secondhand RAM kit (32GB, CL16 3600) to save some cash. Is this a good move, or should I be wary like when considering a used power supply?

The risk of buying used RAM is minimal since it rarely fails, but honestly, the price difference often isn't that substantial. You could get a new kit with a warranty for a little more.
I've bought secondhand RAM multiple times and sold some too, and I've never encountered issues. Just ensure it works before making the purchase.
RAM usually has a pretty low failure rate, so buying it used is generally safe! I've done it before without any issues.
If you do decide to buy it, ask the seller if you can test the RAM in your setup first, or ensure there's a return option if it ends up not working.
It really depends on the seller's return policy. I recently got a 64GB DDR4 kit on eBay without any problems. Just make sure you can return it if it doesn’t work.
