I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 5600X with an RTX 3080, which performs decently, but I've noticed some CPU-related struggles, especially when alt-tabbing. Initially, I wanted to invest in an AM5 build, but with RAM prices skyrocketing, I'm tempted to get a 5900XT or 5800XT while they're on sale, around $230. Is upgrading to the 5900XT a good idea, or would it be better to save that money for future RAM upgrades?

Most games won’t show much improvement moving from a 5600X to a 5900XT. Since RAM prices are sky-high, it might be smarter to save that $230 and put it toward getting more RAM instead. If you’re sticking with AM4, consider an X3D chip instead for better performance.

True, I regret not picking up a 5800X3D while I could. Now they’re super overpriced. With bundles for the 9800X3D out there, I’m reconsidering all my options.
