I'm considering building my first PC and I've put together a spec list. Here it is:
- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X - 6 cores, 12 threads, with a base clock of 4.7 GHz and a boost clock up to 5.3 GHz.
- **Cooler**: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE with dual towers and 6 heat pipes.
- **Motherboard**: Gigabyte B650 AORUS ELITE AX V2 - supports AM5, has Wi-Fi 6E, and DDR5.
- **RAM**: Patriot Viper Venom 32 GB DDR5-6400.
- **Storage**: KingSpec XG7000 2 TB M.2 NVMe SSD with impressive speeds.
- **GPU**: XFX Swift OC Radeon RX 9060 XT with ray tracing capabilities.
- **Case**: Phanteks XT PRO ULTRA, which is a mid-tower case.
- **PSU**: Vetroo 850 W 80+ Gold, fully modular.
I'm thinking I might wait for Black Friday to snag some deals on this build. Would this be a decent first-time build?

This build looks solid for a first-timer! You've got a good CPU, and that GPU is quite capable. Just make sure to double-check the cooler compatibility with your case. Overall, you should have a fun time putting this together!
I'd suggest a few tweaks if you're open to it. Consider switching the CPU to the 9600X, which might give you better thermals and efficiency. Also, the RAM can be improved; maybe look for 6000MHz with lower CAS latency for better performance. Lastly, think about opting for a B850 motherboard instead of the B650 for some future-proofing.

I don’t think the motherboard change is necessary since AM5 is the same regardless of the B650 or B850. And just to clarify, higher CAS latency isn't faster! It refers to the delay when accessing the RAM.
