I'm looking for a reliable way to back up my Azure configurations, specifically things like Virtual Networks and Route Tables. Is there a good method or tool for doing this? Any advice would be appreciated!

Using Terraform along with DevOps practices is a solid way to handle your configs. It might take some time to set up, but once you have your infrastructure defined as code, backups become much easier.

One straightforward method is to use the export option found in the Automation blade of your Azure resources. It gives you a quick way to back up your current setups. That said, a more robust solution would be implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to keep your configurations in a manageable format. Microsoft also offers a tool called aztfexport, which can assist you in importing your resources into Terraform. It’s definitely worth checking out if you're looking for something long-term!

The best backup is usually through coding practices. If you have configurations in a repository using IaC, that's your safest bet for backup. But if you're starting from scratch or dealing with existing setups, definitely try the Automation blade export option.
