I'm looking to explore different window managers that allow me to easily snap windows to the edges of my screen, similar to what you can do in Windows. My goal is to drag a window to an edge, and it should automatically resize to fill half or the entire screen. I've done some digging through wikis and various articles but haven't found much info specifically on this feature. Do any of you have recommendations or experiences with window managers that offer this functionality? Thanks in advance for your help!

In Xfce, you can enable window tiling easily. Just go to your settings, then window manager tweaks, and look under the accessibility tab to set it to automatically tile windows when they get close to the edges of the screen.
I suggest searching for 'window tiling' options in your window manager. There are plugins for GNOME that can modify how window snapping works, and as others mentioned, KDE has built-in features for it. And of course, there are dedicated tiling window managers that take this concept even further!
You can definitely get this feature with GNOME using Mutter, and it works well with KDE Plasma and its Kwin window manager too. Most modern window managers have similar capabilities, so you're in good shape!
Most window managers do support this snapping feature in one way or another, so you have plenty of options. It's worth trying out a few to see which one fits your workflow best!
If you're using KDE Plasma, it actually has window snapping enabled by default! Plus, it's user-friendly, especially for those transitioning from Windows. You might also want to check out the physics engine feature for a fun twist with wobbly windows!
