Hey everyone! I recently put together my first gaming PC last year, and I'm looking for some advice on upgrades. Here's what I've got so far:
- Processor: Intel i5-12400
- RAM: 16GB 3200MHz DDR4
- Graphics Card: Sapphire 7800 XT Nitro+ (just purchased two weeks ago)
- Power Supply: MSI 850W
I started experiencing crashes while playing Far Cry 4 and CS: GO, where the screen hangs and I end up with no display. The only fix is to restart my PC, re-enable the AMD driver in Device Manager, and reinstall the Adrenaline software. I play at 1440p with 165Hz.
I suspect my CPU might be bottlenecking the GPU since I want to switch to an all-AMD setup. I'm planning on upgrading to:
- AMD Ryzen 7 7600X
- A B650 motherboard that supports DDR5
- 32GB RAM sticks at 6000MHz
Do you think this is a solid plan for getting the most out of my 7800 XT? Would going with AMD be a good fit for my current GPU? I mainly play games like Delta Force, CS2, Far Cry series, GTA V, Call of Duty series, FIFA, Uncharted, and Forza. All insights are appreciated!

Have you tried using DDU to completely remove the Adrenaline driver and then reinstalling it? Sometimes, starting fresh can really help fix driver-related issues.
I haven't tried that yet. Since this is my first gaming PC, I just reinstalled the drivers without DDU. Should I definitely consider it?
