I've come across a lot of conflicting information regarding whether I can install KDE Plasma 6 on Kubuntu 24.04. There are different methods suggested, and some even advise switching from one LTS version to another, which leaves me a bit confused. I'm a fan of the cube feature and many other aspects of KDE, so I want to know the best way to get it set up without running into issues.

If you're interested in running the latest KDE on a solid Ubuntu LTS base, I'd recommend backing up your home directory and trying out KDE neon instead. It's based on Ubuntu LTS and lets you experience the newest KDE releases in a more experimental environment.
Just so you know, Kubuntu 24.04 comes with Plasma 5.27.12, and the next version to officially support KDE Plasma 6 will be 24.10.
If you want Plasma 6, it’s best to swap 24.04 for 25.10, and just move away from the LTS track.
You should really detail your distro and hardware when asking for help! But as for Plasma 6, you’ll only find it in 24.10 and later. If you're using Jellyfin or similar services, remember that they require an LTS version like 24.04 — so be cautious when upgrading!

KDE neon is mainly for testing new features, so it might not be as stable as you'd like.
