So, I recently found out that I might have been misinformed about Lenovo being bought out by HP, thanks to my boss. I usually prefer Lenovo devices because I've had a good experience with their customer service for general consumers. However, if they've been bought by HP, I'm concerned that the quality might slip. On the other hand, I do use Dell laptops for work and appreciate their business-level customer service, but they tend to be pretty pricey. For personal use, I have a MacBook, but switching from Windows to MacOS after a long workday can get a bit exhausting. Plus, I'd like something that makes managing personal stuff like budgeting easier since I'm not keen on learning to use Numbers. I'm looking for any advice on which brand or model I should lean towards!

Actually, Lenovo wasn't bought by HP! A lot of folks were confused about that because of the way companies merge and rebrand, but Lenovo is still independent. If you love ThinkPads for their build quality and support, I say stick with them! They're solid machines for both work and personal use. Plus, older models like the T480 still hold up nicely!
I recommend checking out Microsoft’s Surface Laptop if you're open to alternatives. The Surface Laptop 7 is worth a look, but I'd suggest waiting for the next release with Intel chips to avoid compatibility issues. They're known for a sleek design and pretty decent performance!
Yeah, I was worried for a moment too! I've always had good experiences with ThinkPads. Glad to know they're still around!
