I made a big mistake while trying to clear space on my C drive. I was convinced that temporary files or caches were taking up space, so I deleted a game and when that didn't help, I copied my user folder to my D drive and deleted it from the C drive. Now, my computer works, but it's functioning really poorly. I have to search for everything, and I've been signed out of all my accounts. I can't find a backup of my registry, there are no restore points to go back to, and I tried putting the copied folder back in the C drive, but that didn't fix anything. I feel stuck and desperately need some advice. I was ready to do a hardware reset, but I'd love to fix this and learn from the experience instead. Any ideas?

Sounds like you're in a bit of a situation! If you've copied your user folder back to the C drive, that alone might not be enough. You should definitely look into using the `mklink` command to create a symbolic link if you want to move files without breaking things. Just pasting might not restore any necessary settings, so the command would help reestablish that connection.

Got it! So just copying the folder back won't set everything right. I'll check out the `mklink` command and see how I can do that. Thanks!
