How Can I Validate Delivery for Non-Marketing Emails?

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some help with validating email delivery for a non-marketing scenario. I've been using a domain for the past 7 years, initially just with one user. I didn't set up SPF, DKIM, or DMARC, but surprisingly, there were no delivery issues until now. Recently, my colleague hired more staff and we've seen an increase in email activity. It turns out that emails are ending up in spam folders. I've corrected the domain settings, but I'm unsure if that solved the problem since I don't have a quarantine or blacklist set up for DMARC.

To provide more context, when someone requests to be contacted via email on our EHR system, my colleague sends them an email. So, it's not exactly a cold email situation. I've tried using mailbox tools to check the setup, and everything looks fine from that end.

I'm hoping to find a reliable method to see if the emails are still hitting spam. Most articles I find focus on marketing emails, which isn't my case. Would using services like SendGrid help with initial outreach? Any insight would be appreciated! Thanks!

You can use Glockapps, which has a free plan to check inbox placement. If your technical setup (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) is correct, you'll be able to see if your emails land in the inbox or not. It's pretty useful!

I think you're overthinking it a bit. If the recipients are requesting to be contacted, those shouldn't be classified as spam! Just ensure your domain has the proper settings, and consider using a reputable email service for sending to improve delivery.
