Hey everyone! I recently started my first website and I'm really excited about it (even though it's still a work in progress). After a tough motorcycle accident, I transitioned from being a union bricklayer to a stay-at-home dad, so I figured it was a good time to dive into this project. I noticed I've been getting around 2,000 visitors from all over the world according to Google Analytics, which surprised me! I've been considering monetizing the site with ads, but I'm not sure it's a good idea or if there are better options out there. The site is a sort of personal portfolio, and you can check it out at [www.innovatewithdave.com](http://www.innovatewithdave.com). I'd love to get your thoughts on whether I should go the ad route or explore other methods!

Just a heads up, my browser couldn't load your site either—consider that before monetizing it.
I waited for a bit, but your page didn't load completely. Just a heads up, those 2k visitors could be bots or crawlers. I'm not sure how you could monetize it either, but let's hope it’s just a temporary glitch with your site.
Oops, that was probably an issue on my end! I'm still figuring things out.
You've got some talent with words and a compelling backstory! However, in terms of monetization, I didn't find much value on your site just yet. The design choices are nice though! Remember, polishing it for job applications could be really useful later on.
Thanks for the feedback! I agree; it's a bit all over the place right now. Once I finalize it, I'll definitely use it to showcase my projects as well.
Honestly, if you’re pivoting to cybersecurity, spending too much time on this website might not be the best use of your energy. Consider using a site builder like Wix or Squarespace for a professional portfolio instead. You've already shown dedication to this project despite everything, so keep exploring but focus on your main goal!
Thanks for that! It really means a lot. I've been through a lot since the accident, but I'm determined to move forward. Your advice helps!
Solid advice! Any chance I could get feedback on my site too?
Ads could work, or maybe think about a tiered subscription model if you build up some value. But keep in mind, monetizing usually needs a good user experience to actually work.
Best wishes as you embark on this new career! If you're truly getting 2k daily human visitors, you could potentially earn a small amount from Google Ads, but just remember it requires their approval, which isn’t always guaranteed. Also, it takes a while to load, and there might be some issues with your plugins. A tip: if you just need static pages, consider hosting them for free on platforms like GitHub or Cloudflare.
Realistically, monetizing this site could end up costing more time than it's worth. You might just end up spending more on upkeep than you'll gain.
Is this meant to be a blog but doesn’t have any posts yet?
Sort of! I’m still working on creating more content aside from the About Me page.
Yeah, I’m really unsure why it's acting up like that! I’ve got a lot to learn in web development.
