I'm planning to build a new PC in about six months and I'm considering whether I should buy an SSD now, as I've heard that prices for components like RAM and SSDs might go up significantly. I already have my GPU in mind, a 5070 Ti, and a CPU, the 9800X3D. Since I don't know all the other parts yet, I can't decide on RAM just yet. However, I'm wondering if it's a smart move to purchase an SSD now and just keep it in its packaging until I build the PC. Can I safely store it without damage, or should I wait and risk potentially higher prices later?

Honestly, nobody knows what prices are going to do—it's kind of a gamble. But you can keep an SSD in its box for ages without any issues, so it shouldn't go bad. About the RAM, since you already have a CPU choice, you might want to look into compatible DDR5 RAM soon! Aim for 32GB if you can, especially at around 6000MHz.
Yeah, just look for deals and don't stress too much about it!
I'm not really keen on buying parts before I build. What if something's defective? It's usually better to save and buy everything at once to avoid issues.
I just got a solid deal on a 4TB 990 Pro SSD recently. SSD prices aren't as wild as RAM, so if you spot a good one, go for it! Just keep an eye on stocks since some brands can sell out quickly.
If you can find a good deal, definitely buy the SSD now. Prices fluctuate, especially with Black Friday coming up. SSDs are usually safe to buy ahead of time.

Thanks for the advice! Do you think I should grab RAM now too?
