I recently downloaded an app for my schoolwork—Arduino—but when I logged into my Microsoft account, I discovered it's a child account. After signing in with my mom's account, my laptop shut down and now it won't let me use it until 8 AM, even though I typically wake up and study at 5 AM. I rely on my laptop for daily school tasks, but it's blocking me from accessing apps like Google and Opera due to parental controls. My mom is too busy to approve access every time, and I need this sorted out before tomorrow for an important research project. Can anyone help me switch out of this child mode?

It’s possible that the birthday you entered when creating the account made it register as a child account. If that’s the case, getting your parents to update that info could fix the issue too!
You might need your parents to change your Microsoft account settings. They can adjust the parental controls or remove your account from any family groups to help you regain access without restrictions. It's important they do this for you to use your laptop without those annoying limits.
If your parents can change your account age to 18 or above, it should automatically get rid of child mode restrictions. Just make sure they change it on the family settings page in Microsoft.
Good idea! Hopefully that’ll clear things up so you can focus on your studies.

Yeah, sounds like a frustrating situation! If they help you out now, it should make your schoolwork a lot easier.
