Thoughts on Fortigate Firewalls and Their Web Filtering Features?

I've been using Fortigate firewalls in our setup for a few years now. They generally perform well, but I'm finding the web filtering, application control, and antivirus features with FortiEMS to be lacking. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this. Also, I've realized I might need to invest in FortiManager Cloud and take advantage of Fortinet's training resources to improve my understanding. It's been quite a humbling experience!

Our setup works fine, but we use FortiManager for centralized management. If you're not keen on that, consider leveraging their API with tools like Ansible or Terraform to automate some processes, though it's a bit like DIYing your own FortiManager.

What specific features are you finding lacking? Are you utilizing deep packet inspection? Sharing details about your environment and example policies could help clarify your issues.
