My brother gifted me his old RX 6800 XT, and I really appreciate it! Currently, I'm running a Ryzen 5500 on a MSI A520M-A PRO motherboard with 32GB of 3200MHz RAM. I plan to use FSR 4 (performance mode) a lot, and I'm considering upgrading my CPU to handle this better. I'm ideally looking for a CPU that's compatible with my existing setup without having to change my motherboard. I'm contemplating options like the Ryzen 5600, Ryzen 5700X, or possibly the Ryzen 5500X3D, but the 5700X3D is quite pricey where I live. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the best CPU upgrade for gaming in this scenario!

Any X3D CPU will give you a noticeable edge in gaming over non-X3D variants. If you're focusing solely on gaming, the 5600X3D or 5700X would be great, but the 5700X is a solid performer for rendering and encoding too. Just keep your usage in mind!
I’d recommend going for the Ryzen 7 5700X! It’s a solid choice and should pair nicely with your RX 6800 XT for gaming.

Actually, I'm mainly just gaming, and this rig will be connected to my TV, so I'll keep it simple.
