Should I Remove My GPU When Moving My PC Downstairs?

I'm planning to move my PC downstairs, but I'm a bit nervous about the GPU. It's just a small staircase, but I'm concerned I might damage it while carrying it, even though I'll be careful. Back in the day, I wouldn't have thought twice about it, but with how big and heavy GPUs have become, I'm second-guessing myself. Should I remove it before the move?

Just take it slow down the stairs. I once moved my PC with the GPU still in place over an 11-hour drive, and everything worked fine afterwards! Just be cautious.

You shouldn't have to remove it if you're careful, but if it gives you peace of mind, it's a good idea! Taking that little extra step could save you from a headache later.

Honestly, taking out and reinstalling the GPU takes only about five minutes. It's probably faster than waiting for responses from people here. Plus, it might save you some stress about potential damage.

I feel you there! I'm at work too, but I plan to tackle this when I get home.

If you're just walking down a small staircase and will be carrying the PC, you don't really need to remove the GPU. Just make sure to hold the case so the motherboard is flat and the GPU is vertical, and you should be fine!
