I'm planning to upgrade my power supply from a Corsair RM750e 750W to a Corsair RMe Series RM850e PSU. I know that switching power supplies isn't always straightforward, and I've come across mixed opinions about reusing cables during a power supply upgrade. My main concern is cable management; I'd really prefer not to redo all my cable routing if I can avoid it. Are there any compatibility issues I should know about? Is it safe to reuse my existing cables, or should I plan to replace them entirely?

You can reuse them, but the RM850e has some newer, fancier cables, which might have additional features. The look and functionality could be upgraded, but if you’re fine with your existing setup, there's no need to swap out just for aesthetics!
I’d recommend checking Corsair’s PSU cable compatibility chart to be sure. All RMe models generally use the same type of cable, so if you're upgrading within that series, you should be good to go!
Yes, you can definitely reuse the cables. Both power supplies use Corsair's Type 4 cables, so they’re compatible with each other. It should make your upgrade much easier since you won’t have to mess with new cables!

When you say 'fancier,' what do you mean? Are the new cables any better in performance?
