Should I upgrade from my current CPU to a 7600X3D or 9800X3D?

I'm currently using a 5070Ti and a Ryzen 5800X processor, paired with a 4K 120Hz LG C2 display. I'm considering an upgrade to the AM5 platform and need help deciding between the $350 7600X3D or the $530 9800X3D (plus tax). I enjoy gaming with DLSS since only a few titles can run smoothly at native 4K. In Arc Raiders, I'm getting around 80-100 FPS with lowered settings, but I really want to achieve a consistent 120Hz. Given that I might be getting another high-refresh-rate display for competitive gaming in the future, is this upgrade worth it?

For most games, a CPU upgrade won't make a huge difference at 4K, especially if you're using DLSS, which helps offload some of the processing load from the CPU to the GPU. Since you're averaging around 80-100 FPS in Arc Raiders, you might want to look at your GPU utilization. If it's maxed out, the CPU upgrade won't help much, but if it's not, it could indicate a bottleneck. I'd focus on tuning your current setup first before jumping into a new CPU.

I feel like DLSS helps a lot here, but it would still be good to check your GPU usage to see if it's at capacity. If it's not, then the CPU would be the next logical step.
