Connection Issues with New Power Supply and Motherboard

I've recently built a new system using an MSI motherboard and a Corsair power supply, and I've added both new RAM and a CPU. After connecting the 24-pin power cable, both 8-pin CPU power connectors, and a PCIe connector, I'm finding that absolutely nothing happens when I try to power it on. The power supply fan doesn't even spin up. Is there something I'm missing, or could there be another issue at play? Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this?

First things first, make sure you've actually flipped the switch on the power supply. It sounds silly, but it's a common mistake! If that’s good, try unplugging everything from the motherboard and shorting the start pins to see if the PSU kicks in. Just make sure to check the pinout for your specific motherboard.

Great news! Just a heads up, I found that shorting pins 3 and 4 on the start header worked for me. The PSU fan spun up, which is a good sign! Now, you should check the voltages with a multimeter just to be sure everything’s fine. If the PSU works, it might be time to take a closer look at the motherboard. Sometimes reseating the CPU and RAM can help, so that's worth a try.
