Should I Be Worried About My Phone Connecting to Unknown Wi-Fi?

I recently visited a local cafe and had my Wi-Fi on. While enjoying my coffee, I found out that my phone had connected to either a random Wi-Fi network or a hotspot. I turned it off immediately, but I'm concerned. Should I be worried about any potential hacking or if someone could access my information? Thanks for your help!

First off, check if the Wi-Fi network name is one you've connected to before. You can go into your phone’s saved Wi-Fi networks and clear out any you don’t recognize. That way, you can limit unnecessary auto-connections in the future.

In general, connecting to a random Wi-Fi isn’t a huge deal unless you visit insecure websites (those starting with HTTP instead of HTTPS). Just being connected doesn’t mean someone can hack your phone easily. Also, you're probably not a target for hackers, so don't worry too much—stealing someone’s phone is usually way easier for them!
