I'm having trouble accessing the settings page for my AC1200 WiFi extender. The process seems simple: just plug it in and connect via either the 5GHz or 2.4GHz network on my PC or mobile device, then enter the IP address "192.168.188.1". However, whenever I try, I keep getting "refused to connect" or "no connection available". I've attempted this on two different PCs, an iPad, and my phone, using different browsers, and I've even cleared my cache and checked that proxy settings are turned off. I've verified that this IP address is correct on all devices. I also tried connecting directly via Ethernet to the extender, but nothing works. Am I dealing with faulty equipment here? I'm seriously considering sending it back because it shouldn't be this difficult. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

You should start by connecting to the extender's WiFi first. Then, open the Command Prompt and type in "ipconfig". Look for the "Default Gateway" under your Wireless LAN adapter. This address is usually the one you need to reach the settings page. If it's showing as blank, 0.0.0.0, or something like 169.254.x.x, it could mean the DHCP function on the extender is faulty, which might mean it's defective.
If the Default Gateway shows 192.168.188.1 but you're still getting a "site can't be reached" message, it could be a browser issue. Make sure you're not using a VPN or any network filters that might block the connection. It might also help to switch to a different browser or try accessing the settings in incognito mode, just to eliminate any browser-related issues.
