I'm dealing with pretty bad internet at home, which is fine for streaming movies but not great for online gaming. I'm using a PS5 and really need a way to get a stable connection for online play. I've considered using a wifi dongle or maybe a data plan for a hotspot. My goal is to achieve good enough ping for competitive PvP games, and I'm feeling pretty down about not being able to game with my friends. Any suggestions for solutions?

For gaming, hardwiring is ideal. Using a hotspot will likely result in worse performance. If you can't get a decent setup, you might want to look into mobile data plans or consider a better internet provider if possible.
I'm a bit confused here. It sounds like you're saying your Wi-Fi isn't working, but then you mentioned a Wi-Fi dongle. What's your current setup like?
If you can, try running an Ethernet cable directly from your router to your PS5. That would give you the best connection. If that's not feasible, let us know how far the router is from your PS5 and how many walls are in between—those factors can affect your Wi-Fi signal.

Unfortunately, I can't run an Ethernet cable. The router is about two rooms away from my PS5, separated by two walls, and I'm not sure I'd be allowed to run a cable that far.
