I'm considering purchasing a MacBook Pro 15 Touchbar with 16GB of RAM and a 500GB SSD for $500. I need it mainly for video editing and gaming. Is this a good deal?

If gaming is a big focus for you, the MacBook isn't the best choice. Most games aren’t compatible with Macs, and performance can be hit or miss. For video editing, it really depends on what you're editing. If it's just basic stuff, it might work, but if you’re into serious projects like 4K video, you might want more power and storage.
If the price is in CAD, $500 could be decent. Just make sure to compare it with other models first. And really think about what you’ll be using it for—editing and gaming might need something more robust.
Before jumping in, find out what year the model was made. If it's older than 2020, it has an Intel processor which could limit its support for new macOS updates in the future. Older models also had issues like overheating and the butterfly keyboard problems. Honestly, I'd avoid Intel Macs right now, especially at that price—it might not be worth it at all!
