I know this might sound like a silly question, but I haven't built a PC in about ten years. I'm looking to purchase a PowerSpec G757 and I'm particularly anxious about the potential cable melting issues with the 5080. Is it worth waiting for the release of the Ampinel device? Should I consider getting an Asrock Phantom Gaming power supply as a replacement for the stock one, since it has a cable designed to prevent melting? Or am I just being overly cautious about this? The whole melting cable situation has me really worried.

I'm in the same boat but looking at the 4080S. Feels like a common concern nowadays.
If you’re getting a prebuilt machine and you’re worried about the cable melting, don’t forget about the warranty! If it happens, there's a good chance it would be covered. If the anxiety is really eating at you, think about getting an extended warranty when you buy it. It might save you troubles in the long run!
It's pretty uncommon to have issues with 80 series cards. Just make sure those power cables are securely connected, and you should be fine!
I've been using my 5080 for a few weeks now, and luckily, the cable hasn't melted on me at all. I think it's something that's blown out of proportion; still, I get the anxiety since there have definitely been units that had issues.
Yeah, I think the warranty would cover it, but I’d really rather not deal with the hassle if I can prevent it. The power supply upgrade might be cheaper and less stressful than extending the warranty.
