I'm finally making the move to Linux and need your help! I'm seeking a distro that's great for both gaming and everyday use, while also being modular enough for work tasks. I want something that boots quickly and isn't too cluttered since I'm moving away from Windows 10, which loses support soon. I've tried migrating before but it didn't go well and I ended up losing all my data. That's why I want to set up a dual boot system to keep everything safe. I'm open to learning terminal commands and would appreciate any one-on-one help for migrating my data without messing up my files or game mods. Here are my specs: AMD Ryzen 5 4500 on an ASUS PRIME B450 PLUS, Nvidia GTX 1080, 32 GB RAM, with a Lexar 2TB NM620 SSD for storage and a Kimtigo 512GB SSD for booting. I don't have external drives to back up to, but most of my stuff is on the 2TB SSD. Any recommendations or tips would be amazing!

You might want to check out the distro selection page on the wiki for some good options! I've found that something based on Debian or Ubuntu could be what you need since they’re user-friendly. Just make sure that the Nvidia drivers are included in the distro, as that can help with gaming!
For a smooth dual boot experience, consider using rEFInd. It's a great boot manager that can help you navigate between Windows and Linux without issues.
Have you thought about Arch? It's a bit more hands-on, but the learning experience can be rewarding. If that sounds daunting, Manjaro is a more user-friendly version of Arch that might suit your needs without all the setup hassle.
Manjaro sounds great! I’m up for learning and it seems like a solid choice.
Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely look into Debian and Ubuntu-based options.
