I've been experiencing problems with my RTX 3060 Ti, which has GDDR6X memory and is an Asus dual fan model. After upgrading to a higher refresh rate monitor, I started to notice white dots and horizontal lines on the screen, though those went away. However, after a restart, there was no picture, only sound. Initially, I thought it was a cable issue. My son also pointed out freezing during Fortnite sessions and slow-loading textures. Eventually, the PC wouldn't turn on at all, just making sound but no display. After cleaning the GPU, it used to reach around 90 degrees Celsius, but it's cooling a bit better now at 80-83 degrees. I remember it would hover around 80 degrees, but there's also a noticeable coil whine when gaming and the fans are quite loud. Should I consider returning the GPU for a warranty exchange, or could the new monitor be causing these issues? The GPU is about 2.5 years old and still under warranty. I had some slowdowns while playing Alan Wake 2 last year after long sessions, but I don't game as much nowadays. I switched from a 1440p monitor with 75 Hz to one with 180 Hz and ran it with an unlocked framerate.

New monitors can sometimes put stress on your GPU, especially with higher refresh rates. But if your GPU's been acting up like this, it's likely time for an RMA. With the age of the card, you may want to consider upgrading anyway, especially since you’re not gaming much right now. A newer GPU might give you a smoother experience.
Sounds like there might be something wrong with the GPU, especially since you’ve cleaned it and the temperatures are still high. That coil whine is also a bad sign. I'd recommend getting in touch with support to RMA it. If something got caught in the fans, it might get worse, and you don't want the card to die completely. Better safe than sorry!
Yeah, I agree. It’s better to replace it now under warranty than to wait for it to fail completely. Just make sure everything is properly checked before sending it back.

Thanks for the input! I’ve been thinking about an upgrade, especially for smoother gameplay overall. If this issue is the GPU's fault, that might push me to jump on an upgrade.
