Which Linux Distro is Best for School?

Hi everyone! I'm in search of a reliable Linux distro to use for schoolwork. My laptop struggles with Windows, even though it meets the minimum requirements. I have 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, and an Intel N95 processor that can hit 3.4GHz. Despite this, Windows 11 is incredibly laggy, and I've tried various solutions to declutter and optimize it. What I'm looking for is a distro that offers solid stability and comes with KDE Plasma. Any recommendations?

I'd recommend trying Debian. It's known for its stability and would suit your needs really well.

What about using KDE instead of Cinnamon on Mint? I think that would fit better with your preference.

OpenSUSE Leap is a great choice too. It comes with KDE and is pretty stable. It might seem a bit less user-friendly than Ubuntu or Mint, but it's not too difficult to manage. Alternatively, you could check out MX Linux with KDE or Fedora KDE for something more up-to-date.

You have enough resources to try out Linux Mint with the Cinnamon desktop. It's very user-friendly, easy to navigate, and is quite stable.

Before you switch, make sure the software you need for school works on Linux. If it does, Fedora KDE could be a good option; it has a strong community and has been stable for me. I've also heard Kubuntu is solid, though I haven't tried it myself.
