I'm relatively new to building PCs, and I'm having trouble getting my GPU to power on. I've got my PSU connected to the CPU and motherboard just fine, but when I tried using a cable that I think is a 12V pigtail with two 8-pin connectors for my GPU, it wouldn't power up. I read that it's better to use two separate PCIe cables, but I only have the pigtail, a single PCIe cable, and a CPU/PCIe cable that doesn't fit. Is there something I'm missing with the cables before I consider getting a different PSU or checking if my GPU is dead?

Using a pigtail cable with two connectors is generally fine. I've done it myself for years! Just make sure that the 6+2 connectors are properly connected. Sometimes if the +2 isn't pressed in tightly against the 6, it won't fit right. Try removing them and reseating them to see if that makes a difference.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a try later today.
