I'm a developer and gamer looking for advice on which Linux distribution to choose. I've used Ubuntu for my studies in Operating Systems and I'm comfortable using command-line applications. Given my background, what distro would be the best fit for my needs?

If you already like Ubuntu, you might stick with it, but don't hesitate to explore other options. CachyOS is a great choice for gaming—it's fast and snappy, and I've personally found it to be my go-to!
You might find Debian to be a significant upgrade if you're looking for something different from Ubuntu. Fedora is also a solid choice for a well-rounded experience. For those who enjoy a DIY approach, Arch is worth considering. Each has its strengths depending on what you're after in an OS.

I think I want more customization options for my desktop along with a decent set of apps for both development and gaming. That's really all I need.
