I'm currently using Linux Mint, but I'm looking to switch to Kubuntu. I chose Mint initially because it was recommended in a YouTube video, but I've been having some issues with Cinnamon when using Wayland, which forces me to stick with X11 and causes scaling problems on my monitor. I also have font issues even with the default ones. I like that Kubuntu runs on KDE, uses the same package manager as Mint, and has a large community. Is there anything I should prepare for before making the switch or after installing Kubuntu?

If you're comfortable with Mint, you'll find the Kubuntu interface pretty easy to navigate. Just be aware that the update GUI is different, but it works well. I've used KDE a lot and I find it can be a bit buggy at times, though. It’s great, but sometimes things seem to break after a while.
Switching to Kubuntu should be pretty straightforward! It's a lot like installing Mint since they're based on the same underlying system. Some people have opinions about using Snaps, but honestly, they're not as bad as folks say. You'll likely adapt to Kubuntu just fine since it's similar to Mint.
You're going to see how much better KDE Plasma is compared to other desktop environments. It really is a step ahead in many ways!
Why not forget Kubuntu and jump straight to Arch? It's a bit of a leap going from Mint to Arch though!
Just a heads up: don’t go for Kubuntu 24.04 LTS. It comes with an old version of Plasma. I recommend downloading version 25.10 instead for a better experience.
