For a budget like $500, I think you can safely look at the 5060 Ti or the 9060 XT with 16GB. They should give you a decent boost in performance compared to your current card.
I’d suggest considering the RX 9070 XT Challenger edition if you have a Micro Center nearby. They have it for about $579, which is really solid for the performance it offers, but it is just outside your budget. If you can stretch it a little, it's worth it.
Have you checked out the GIGABYTE Eagle GeForce RTX 5070? It's going on sale for $449, and it might be a great deal, especially if you catch it during the NewEgg door buster event.
