After the recent update on my phone, I'm stuck using a password instead of my usual passcode. This is really frustrating because when it's dark or I'm in bed, my Face ID doesn't seem to work. Plus, it also fails when I'm wearing makeup! Is there a way to switch back to just using a passcode instead of this password?

If makeup is causing issues with Face ID, you could try setting up an alternative appearance to help it recognize you better. Just go to Settings, then Face ID & Passcode, and select 'Set up an alternative appearance.'
You can definitely change your settings! Just go into your passcode settings and look for the options at the bottom. If Face ID isn't working well in certain conditions, you might want to retrain it. Sometimes it just needs a little adjustment.
Another tip: if you want to improve Face ID, clean your screen protector. Sometimes, the thickness can impact how well it works.
Your phone might have a strict password policy if it's managed by a company or if you have an Exchange account. Check that out. And remember, lighting shouldn't affect Face ID—try retraining it.
