I'm looking to switch from Windows due to concerns about its updates and the inclusion of unwanted features. I play a ton of games on Steam and other launchers, as well as retro PC games that require older versions of Windows. I do a bit of office work too. My goal is to find a Linux distro that just works without needing constant tinkering or technical fiddling. I recently built a new PC with the latest components, and I'm moving away from my old Windows 10 setup. I also prefer an interface similar to what I'm used to, as I find learning new UIs a bit challenging. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Have you considered Pop OS? It's designed with gamers in mind and you won't have to spend much time tweaking settings.
Just a heads up, if you play games that require anti-cheat, Linux might be problematic for those. You could check ProtonDB for compatibility on your favorite titles.
Fedora KDE is another solid option. It’s stable and doesn't need a lot of tinkering. So far, I haven't faced issues with it.
Bazzite is a fantastic choice! It gives you a good balance between a customizable experience and classic PC functionality, which might suit your gaming and work needs.
If you're after something that just works, I'd definitely recommend Linux Mint. It's user-friendly and perfect for gamers with minimal setup required.
