I've been having a problem with my PC shutting down unexpectedly while playing games. Here are my specs: MSI B450M PRO-VDH MAX motherboard, Ryzen 5 5500 CPU, XFX RX 6600XT GPU, Corsair CX650M power supply, and 16GB of RAM. This issue started after returning from a two-week trip; before that, I had no problems for almost a year. To counter the shutdowns, I've been lowering the resolution and playing in windowed mode.
I've tried a few things to troubleshoot: reseating the GPU, swapping out the RAM, changing the GPU PCIe port on the PSU, along with updating both the BIOS and GPU drivers. Unfortunately, nothing has worked so far. I checked the event viewer, but the only log I found is system log 6008, which only indicates an unexpected shutdown. There's also no minidump file generated, even though the option to create one is selected in the advanced system settings.
I'm starting to suspect it might be a PSU issue, but I've read that this is usually linked to kernel event 41 errors, which I don't have. I'm hesitant to buy a new PSU without being certain that's the problem, especially since it would take a while to arrive. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Have you checked the temperatures of your components? High temps are one of the most common reasons for abrupt shutdowns. It sounds like your PC is turning off completely rather than crashing, which is a bit different. If temps are normal, start checking your power delivery chain—from the wall socket, the cable, PSU, and all the way to the motherboard, GPU, and CPU. Unfortunately, the best way to diagnose the issue is to swap in known good parts for the ones you suspect might be faulty.

Yeah, the temperatures were fine. My CPU never went above 50°C and the GPU stayed under 70°C. I'm using a UPS that's connected to a wall socket, so I don't think there's a power issue there.
