Hey everyone! Earlier this year, my PC stopped booting, so I upgraded to a budget setup with a 13100F CPU, a new motherboard, and 32GB of DDR5 RAM. My faithful 1080 Ti is still hanging in there, but now I've received a beautiful 1440p OLED monitor as an early Christmas gift from my girlfriend, so I'm thinking it's time to retire the 1080 Ti. I'm considering upgrading to a 5070 for around €470. Do you think that's a decent upgrade? Will the 13100F CPU bottleneck the performance significantly? I'd also consider the 5070 Ti or 9070 XT, but they are beyond my budget and I'd need to upgrade my PSU too, which adds another €100. In short: is moving from a 1080 Ti to a 5070 for €470 a good idea with the 13100F at 1440p?

Does your 1080 Ti struggle with 1440p games? If you're already having to drop settings for better fps, upgrading will help but won't completely eliminate that issue. It sounds like the 5070 could give you some boost, but you may still find yourself compromising on some graphics quality.
Honestly, while the processor isn't top of the line for a 5070, it’s not a total game-breaker. You will notice some limits, but not to the extent some folks might think. You’re on a path to an eventual upgrade, and the 5070 should provide a worthwhile bump in performance until then!
You might see a noticeable bottleneck with that CPU when using the 5070. Just keep in mind that the 13100F is a decent chip, but it isn’t the strongest out there for gaming at higher resolutions. Still, if you mainly play less demanding games or older titles, it should hold up decently. Just be prepared to upgrade the CPU later for better performance!
Exactly! Plus, if you're hitting lower fps on newer games now, it might not change significantly with the GPU alone.

Yeah, I’ve had to turn down graphics settings on newer games like Arc Raiders to get smooth gameplay.
