Is Upgrading from Ryzen 5 5600G to 5700X3D Worth It for Gaming and Streaming?

I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 5600G paired with an RX 6700 XT, and I'm considering upgrading my CPU. DDR5 prices are quite high, so I'm sticking with the AM4 platform for now. I'm looking for a solid boost for both gaming and streaming, and I've been eyeing the 5800XT and 5700X3D, which are both around $250 on eBay. Can anyone share their thoughts on whether it's worth making this upgrade? Which CPU would be better for my setup, or should I just wait and save for something else?

I recommend going with the 5700X3D. It upgrades you from the 5600G, which has the least cache in the 5000 series, to one with the most, plus it adds two extra cores. That’s a solid performance boost in most games! Just keep in mind that the 5800XT might outperform it in some scenarios due to higher clock speeds, so if there’s a specific game you want to stream or play, definitely check out the benchmarks for that.

It really depends on your gaming habits. If you mainly play AAA titles or shooters, the 5700X3D will help improve your experience. However, if you often play specific games that run better on the 5800XT due to its higher clock rate, you might want to consider that option. Just weigh the games you play most before deciding!

Thanks for the advice! I mostly stream a variety of games, but I'm into AAA and shooters like Battlefield. I'll check the benchmarks for them!
